Since the passage of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), you have had the option to buy an insurance plan through the federal Health Insurance Marketplace or through your state’s marketplace. The website lets you search for health insurance quotes online and compare plans.

Besides looking for cheap health insurance quotes, you can compare several plans from different affordable health insurance companies to find the best one for you and your family. Not all plans offer the same coverage, so you should consider if you need coverage for the following services:

Get Cheaper Health Insurance Through the Marketplace

Mental Health– All Marketplace plans must cover hospitalization and prescriptions related to mental and behavioral health. Some plans offer additional coverage for mental health services, like outpatient talk therapy and substance abuse.

Dental Care– Some health insurance plans combine dental care with their traditional plans, or you may have to pay for a separate dental plan.

Vision Care – Plans for adults do not have to cover vision care services. If you have corrective lenses, you should consider selecting a plan that includes vision.

Medical Management Plans – Some plans have special coverage for certain medical needs. You might benefit from a plan with special coverage if you have a condition, such as diabetes, obesity, or chronic pain.

Depending on the plan, you may need to pay a percentage of the cost – a coinsurance – or a fixed amount – a copayment.

If you are between long-term coverage from employees, however, you may want short term health insurance instead of another year-long plan through the Marketplace.
